Micam, the event dedicated to fashionable, high-quality, innovative, and sustainable footwear, and Mipel, the international exhibition dedicated to leather goods, travel items, and fashion accessories, are strengthening their collaboration within Fiera Milano Rho, presenting “Reinventing Mipel & Micam”, a strategic project designed to increase the competitiveness of both events on the international trade-fair scene. Partnering in this transformation is Lombardini22, a leading company in the architecture and engineering sector, chosen for its ability to design dynamic, narrative, and high-impact spaces through an integrated approach that brings together architecture, interior design, communication, and sustainability.
For the February 2026 edition, which will be in conjunction with the Milan–Cortina Winter Olympics, the Mipel experience will be completely redesigned: the event will move to the front section of the Pavilion 5 at Fiera Milano Rho, gaining greater visibility and centrality within the exhibition centre and turning this shift into a lever for a deep renewal of the fair’s identity. Lombardini22 will redesign the layout to make the visit clearer, more immersive, and immediately understandable, with optimized pathways and new areas dedicated to products, innovation, and creativity. The totally decorated exhibition booths will also be reinterpreted with a contemporary and functional approach. Alongside these new features, Mipel will confirm the projects that have long been at the heart of the event: Showcase, the area dedicated to the dialogue between design, research and craftsmanship; Mipel Livestreaming, the live- shopping format highly appreciated by exhibitors and featuring international livestreamers; and finally the area dedicated to product storytelling and Autumn/Winter 2026/27 trends, organized for this edition in synergy with Micam to highlight emerging trends in the leather-goods and footwear industries.
“Reinventing Mipel & Micam” represents a shared vision for the future of the two supply chains, supporting sector evolution and strengthening the international positioning of both events.
“In a moment of full transformation for our sector, Mipel strongly renews its commitment to supporting leather-goods companies in their growth path. Through collaboration with Micam and the new layout studied by Lombardini22, we want to further strengthen the value of our event, making it more visible, more attractive, and increasingly cutting-edge. This strategic project aims to place the excellence of our supply chains at the centre and offer visitors and exhibitors an evolved and ever more engaging experience,” said Claudia Sequi, Mipel president.
At the centre of Pavilion 5, M&M – The Hub will take shape: a new space designed to host initiatives and projects developed in full synergy between Mipel and Micam, to offer visitors of both fairs a complete, contemporary experience rich in valuable content. Inside The Hub, Micam Academy and Mipel Factory will coexist, united in a single concept that blends training, research, technical experimentation, and professional development. Thus, M&M – The Hub will become the beating heart of the collaboration between the two exhibitions, while also highlighting the specific features of each sector. The Italian Startup project, realized in collaboration with ITA-Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), is also confirmed. It will shine a spotlight on a selection of emerging Italian companies with high innovative and technological content. There will also be a dedicated product area offering a curated overview of the main trends for Autumn/Winter 2026– 2027.
“The collaboration with Mipel, guided by Lombardini22, represents a strategic step toward a shared vision: integrating production, design, and innovation into a harmonious narrative that enhances both Made in Italy excellence and the international excellence that animates the sector," according to Giovanna Ceolini, Micam president. "The new configuration of the spaces is not just a functional choice but a manifesto of contemporaneity: a forward-looking approach capable of interpreting with clarity the needs of exhibitors and buyers. Micam evolves, renews itself, and regenerates through listening and vision, introducing solutions that foster authentic connections and a more effective and inclusive exhibition experience.”
