From September 18, 2025, to January 11, 2026, Pirelli HangarBicocca will present Entanglements, a solo exhibition by Yuko Mohri (Kanagawa, Japan, 1980; lives and works in Tokyo). Mohri’s practice explores the transformative potential of everyday objects and natural elements, highlighting their ability to generate visual and sonic shifts. Through ephemeral assemblages and interconnected systems, she draws attention to pressing environmental and social concerns. Entanglements is Mohri’s most comprehensive solo exhibition to date in a European institution. Its title alludes to the invisible connections and intricate interactions among objects, forces, sounds, and people.
The exhibition reflects on how each component belongs to a wider system in which nothing exists in isolation, but rather as part of a vast and ever-changing web of relationships. Mohri’s finely balanced sculptures uncover the hidden complexity of natural and artificial structures and the continuous flow of energy that permeates them. Through her choice of materials, she infuses her work with subtle irony and a discreetly playful spirit, weaving in cultural references that range from philosophy to pop culture, and from kinetic art to experimental sound practices.
