The Design Museum presents unprecedented access to Wes Anderson’s personal archives, built up over three decades. For most of these objects, this is their first display in Britain.
This landmark exhibition traces the evolution of Anderson’s films, from his early experiments in the 1990s to his recent productions, highlighting collaborations with key long-standing creative partners. Visitors can explore the design stories behind award-winning and iconic films such as The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Isle of Dogs.
From the melancholic charm of The Royal Tenenbaums to the adventurous spirit of Moonrise Kingdom, the exhibition reveals how Anderson’s distinctive vision and meticulous attention to detail have produced some of the most visually and emotionally compelling films of recent decades.
Over 600 objects showcase Anderson’s craft, including original storyboards, Polaroids, sketches, paintings, handwritten notebooks, puppets, miniature models, dozens of costumes worn by beloved characters, and more.
