Frida: The Making of an Icon presents works that reveal Kahlo’s ‘many selves’ – the devoted wife, the intellectual, the modern artist, and the political activist. Featuring over 130 works, including some of her most celebrated paintings, the exhibition also showcases documents, photographs, and memorabilia from Kahlo’s archives, alongside works by more than 80 contemporaries and artists she has inspired across generations.
This exhibition offers a unique journey into the life of a fearless, revolutionary artist, providing fascinating insights into the transformative role of women in 20th-century art, the dynamics of fandom, and the diverse communities who continue to claim Frida as their own.
