Galerie Xippas was created in 1990 by Renos Xippas and specializes in French and international contemporary art. The gallery sees itself as a platform for discovery and promotion of young artists as well as a showcase for more established ones.
Situated in the heart of the Marais district of Paris, the spaces have distinguished architectural features such as the glass wall and the staircase, designed by Barthélémy and Grino in the late 1980s and reviewed by Paillard in 2003. With 800 sq. m. (8.000 sq. ft.) in two levels, it is one of the largest gallery spaces in Paris.

The first floor is dedicated to exhibitions of one or two artists at a time and occasionally for group shows. The basement is used as a show room for artists represented by the gallery.
Since the opening of Galerie Xippas, almost every exhibition has been accompanied by the publication of an illustrated catalogue with an essay by an art historian, a critic, a curator or a museum director.
