An interdisciplinary exhibition of Dutch Design, Art, Crafts, Fashion and Photography

The antique salons of Palazzo Francesco Turati will host an exhibition where the creations of over a hundred and twenty-five Dutch artists and designers dialogue with a selection of Dutch Golden Age paintings.

Regione Lombardia and Polifactory, the makerspace of Politecnico di Milano, present the Next Design Innovation exhibition: 21 interactive prototypes developed by designers under 35 exploring new kind of products in the intersection between design an and new technologies.
They are conceived by designer under 35 coming from schools and universities in Lombardy and selected by the open call Next Design Innovation, plus other designers selected from Escuela ELISAVA de Barcelona.

The XXI International Exhibition of the Triennale di Milano :

After a pause of 20 years, the Triennale di Milano will resume its international exhibitions. 2016 will offer a new and improved version of the Triennale as the exhibition will no longer be limited to the Palazzo dell'Arte but will be spread all over the city engaging with more visitors and more participants.

This third edition of the exhibition explores the theme TRADITION & TECHNOLOGY.

The courtyard of the Palazzo, the heart of the event, is being interpreted this year by Diébédo Francis Kéré. Born in Burkina Faso, the Berlin-based architect is transforming the courtyard into a neo-African village called Courtyard Village.

On the first floor of the Palazzo, in the Mirror Room poetic engineer and designer Alberto Meda takes over the floor. Michele De Lucchi and Andrea Branzi with Francesca Balena Arista investigate the theme of ‘CAOS’. The 7th edition of Belgium is Design presents projects commissioned especially for the event and will be seen for the first time during the Salone.
Continuing the tradition, DAMN° and MoscaPartners are presenting some fresh entries, including works by young international talents

Renewing the collaboration that began last year with The Aesthetics of Misery, this edition features Michele De Lucchi and Andrea Branzi with Francesca Balena Arista, who are investigating the theme of ‘CAOS’ in the contemporary world. This project is the result of the students Laboratory of Interior Design at the Design School of the Politecnico di Milano, and in collaboration with Oikos, colour and matter for architecture.

Taking part in the group event A Matter of Perception: Tradition & Technology at the Palazzo Litta, the seventh edition of Belgium is Design’s presentation in Milan, Belgian Matters, features the results of pairings between 13 designers and companies, the latter often coming from sectors far removed from that of furniture design. Each project has been commissioned especially for the event and will be seen for the first time during the Salone.

Alcantara - Ten cities interpreted with Alcantara material

For the exhibition, curated by Giulio Cappellini and Domitilla Dardi, designers Studio Job, Constance Guisset, Poetic Lab, Mischer’Traxler, GamFratesi, Neri&Hu, Hans Tan, Michael Young, Poetic Lab and Cosmas Gozali create iconic objects to interpret ten cities of two main geopolitical areas, in an imaginary dialogue between East and West.

KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD will hold an exhibition to present prototypes of the new pieces ‘Colour Wood Chair’ by Scholten & Baijings, coat stand ‘Angle’ by Lucien Gumy and an XL version of dining table ‘Scout’ by Christian Haas.
On the occasion of this exhibition, Karimoku New Standard’s creative director David Glaettli invited Italy-based Korean artist Chung Eun-Mo to create an extensive installation that brings the furniture into a dialog with her intriguing works.
