HOUSEWARMING
Airbnb, the world’s leading community-driven hospitality company, is partnering with the Fabrica to create ‘Housewarming’, an experiential installation for the 2015 edition of Salone del Mobile to celebrate the connections that guests and hosts experience through sharing a home, and how these unique relationships begin with a simple welcome.

Visitors to the installation in the Palazzo Crespi, will see the creations of 19 international designers who have interpreted the concept of welcome. Guests will be invited to interact with the designers, who will be installed in different parts of the Palazzo.
The Airbnb community is known for providing access to incredible spaces and Palazzo Crespi is no different ... It was originally built to celebrate the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte.

A MATTER OF PERCEPTION:
"AESTHETICS OF MISERY"

At Palazzo Litta Andrea Branzi and Michele De Lucchi present sixteen “social environments” based on the concept of misery, a subject always expressed in arts, cinema and literature but basically alien to design culture. The projects were developed by the students of the Design Faculty of Milan Polytechnic under the supervision of Francesca Balena Arista and Marco De Santi.

CAMERA CHIARA
The installation by Annabel Karim Kassar architects and Interiors surges strongly in the Cortile 700 inside the University, interacting and creating different views through two pavilions made of raw black steel finish structure with burnt dark and rough wooden planks.

Through these rough constructions, remembering some of the Lebanese temporary shelters, the project aims to share the experience of the craftsmen’s work and way of living through a narrative approach.

The two pavilions, Liwan and Camera Obscura, composed of eight stepped telescopic frames, face each other to create parallelism and interact with the historical building.

Il Sentiero dei Nidi di Ragno

In the charming Circolo Marras “Il Sentiero dei Nidi di Ragno” expected an art installation of a large square aviary, wrapped in tulle with inside nests suspended and rotating mechanisms.
The nests-baskets, in woven willow, are now reinterpreted by Antonio Marras through the use of his fabrics, whose colors palette refers to his collections.
The installation is animated by the playful and frisky presence of fifty diamonds birds fluttering and chirping.

THE GARDEN OF WONDERS. A JOURNEY THROUGH SCENTS
Nendo and Front projects for BE OPEN Foundation's exhibition

Be Open, the international foundation created by entrepreneur and philanthropist Yelena Baturinawhich operates in the field of design and creativity, has chosen the Botanical Garden of Brera as the background of a sophisticated interdisciplinary project whose central theme is perfume.

The foundation has invited 8 designers to reinterpret the history and features of 8 defuncts perfume brands according to their sensitivity: Tord Boontje, Fernardo and Humberto Campana, Dimore Studio, Front, Jamie Hayon, Lissoni Associati, Jean-Masrie Massaud, Nendo.
PROJECT by Ferruccio Laviani and Gérald Guislain as OLFACTORY CURATOR.

Front and Nendo have respectively worked on French brand Guyla and Russian perfume house Koehler & Co.The mysteriously double walled bottle inspired them to create a bottle with an unexpected inside: it will be lit up from within. The room is also a light installation made from hundreds of tiny light dots like fireflies that will visualise the ephemerality of scent.

A common daily sensation translated in a poetic way.

FABRICA collaborates with DAIKIN Italy to explore a more personal relationship with air.
Named after two traditional Japanese onomatopoeic expressions reminiscent of the sound of human breath, FU HA – The expression of air is a multisensory artistic platform where air is the designer. * FU and HA remind of the sound of our breaths when air is exhaled. FU represents blowing into a substance to cool it down and HA is about warming something up by opening our mouth widely.

In the exhibition, the historic pieces from the eighties are presented in infinite variations with aged ethnic carpets, antiques, contemporary works of art, rare objects and mass market produce, on the basis of a lifestyle as free today as it was then of middle class received notions, rules and styles, seeking out the roots of the Memphis revolution in its irreverent freedom of expression
