A major heritage site, the Mobilier national is also a major player in creation. Its Research and Creation Workshop, ARC, promotes contemporary design in France. As such, the institution will unveil one of its latest creations during Paris Design Week. In 2021, Clémence Plumelet and Geoffrey Pascal won the Design Parade Toulon/Mobilier national Prize. The designer duo imagined the Terence sofa, prototyped by the ARC and presented during the Design Parade of Toulon 2022. This project is now published by the Lit national. On the occasion of Paris Design Week, the Mobilier national also awards the Mobilier national, Jeune Création prize, sponsored by the Campus des métiers d'art et du design.

The Prix Mobilier national / Jeune Création, launched in 2019, offers students from the Campus Mode, Métiers d'Art & Design the opportunity to design new forms and design solutions in response to contemporary challenges. This competition highlights emerging talents and encourages the creation of original projects. In collaboration with Les Canaux this year, the competition focuses on material reuse, with the aim of producing objects and furniture that will be edited by French manufacturers.
