Elle Fashion Exhibiton

Exhibitions
Monday August 07 2023 10:00-18:00
*
Danish magazine Elle has been backstage with the models, stylists and designers for the past 15 years. The Backstage exhibition is a series of shots by photographer Lasse Bak Mejlvang for Elle.

In September 2008 Danish Elle was published for the first time and we decided not only to follow Copenhagen Fashion Week from the frontrow but also, through Lasse Bak Mejlvang’s photographs, to document everything that is usually hidden from the public eye: The innumerable changes of clothes, fleeting moments between shows, and the hectic activity backstage.

The 10-12 minutes a fashion show lasts takes months of preparation and concentrated work by many dedicated people. Backstage - 15 års fotografi fra Copenhagen Fashion Week' provides a unique glimpse into the rapidly developing Fashion Week and spotlights an industry in which trends, timing, craftsmanship and hard work come together twice a year, February and August, when Copenhagen Fashion Week takes place.

Designmuseum Denmark has hosted large and small exhibitions, talks and several fashion shows during the past 15 years. So it was an obvious choice to have the exhibition staged in the green garden in the heart of Copenhagen.

Our Shift is an activist brand launched in 2022 in Copenhagen. The founder duo Milan and Barbora aim to shift the fashion industry into a more responsible one with their upcycled lines using unconventional materials such as abandoned festival tents and an activist storytelling.

The new collection from Our Shift takes this spirit and turns it into a collection of garments that empower the wearer to join the shift into a more sustainable fashion future. The SS24 collection from Our Shift consists of formal sportswear for all people.
