Founded by Hong Kong designer Derek Chan in 2014, DEMO redefines masculinity and femininity, dismantles gender boundaries, and brings together philosophy and poetry in designs created to defy expectations. Its signature style of soft masculinity is brought to life with handmade embellishments and embroidery, and rich textiles such as tweed.

With a Master of Philosophy in Fashion & Textile Design from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, designer Derek Chan is no stranger to pushing boundaries. He was a finalist in the Young Fashion Designer’s Competition (YDC) in 2012, before he created his own label, DEMO bringing elements of philosophy, poetry and science into his distinctive creations, Derek seeks to reimagine traditional masculinity in contemporary and gender-neutral designs. His work has been met with critical acclaim internationally.
