Talks

Icon magazine invites Sam Jacob and Noam Toran and Onkar Kular to explore the theme of copying during Clerkenwell Design Week.

25 May 6-7pm - Ground Xerox: Architectural Doppelgängers & Design Doubles - Sam Jacob
Sam Jacob, architect and critic, will explore the art of fakery. What are its consequences for creative practice? Should we embrace copying as a new starting point for originality? And crucially, is anything truly original?

26 May 6-7pm - End Credits - Noam Toran and Onkar Kular
Long-term collaborators Toran and Kular make imaginative installations that explore the relationship between design and film. The pair will talk about their MacGuffin Library a series of invented plots and fictional props, and I Cling to Virtue a vast and eerie collection of curiosities – the imagined belongings of a fictional family – made by rapid prototyping.
