Oscar Niemeyer disappears December 4, 2012 at the age of 104 years in Rio.
He was considered one of the fathers of modern architecture and received the Pritzker Price in 1988, signed no less than 600 buildings worldwide, including the United Nations headquarters in New York, the Office of French Communist Party Place du Colonel Fabien in Paris and the Cathedral of Brasilia bearing his crown of thorns.
