MODE Shanghai will take place for the first time during the upcoming Shanghai Fashion Week. As the official showroom of Shanghai Fashion Week, MODE Shanghai gathers together over 200 local and international brands that will showcase their Fall/Winter 2015-2016 collections during the fashion event. MODE Shanghai aims to attract international and Chinese Press, international buyers, as well as industry influencers, in order to become the leading launchpad for fashion business in Asia. The showroom creates a link between notable Eastern and Western fashion business structures, such as luxury retailers and production companies. In this context, MODE Shanghai aims to promote Chinese fashion talents worldwide, while helping international brands to break into the Chinese market.

The first edition of MODE Shanghai features 9 different showrooms, which all aim to provide a networking structure, media exposure and brand development opportunities through advanced business strategies.



Ontimeshow Showroom: The premium fashion showroom represents the edgy side of international and Chinese fashion. With a minimalistic display, Ontimeshow Showroom focuses on innovation and creativity showcasing independent fashion designers and selected lifestyle brands.

DFO Showroom: Established in 2010, Danube Fashion Office (DFO) is currently the largest fashion distribution and press office for international brands in China and Southeast Asia. Representing more than 40 leading and upcoming fashion labels from all over the world, DFO counts more than 500 effective buyers and it is the most powerful distribution channel in China.

ALTER Showroom: Founded in 2010 by the top fashion buyer Sonja Long Xiao of the award winning ALTER Concept Store, Shanghai’s ALTER Showroom features a wide range of international fashion designers. Just like ALTER Concept Store, ALTER Showroom has a strong and cutting-edge approach to fashion, expressed through the sharp and refined selection of clothing and accessory brands.

VDS Showroom: Conceived as a bridge-builder between East and West, VDS Showroom is sponsored by the Institutions of Central Europe Innovation Center and the Central European Designers Association. With a showroom in Italy and one in the Hangzhou (China), VDS focuses on discovering young talents and promoting them on an international level. Aside from managing sales campaigns and commercial relationships, VDS also offers a multitude of professional services, from distribution to business planning.



BOTH Showroom: This eclectic showroom has a 360° approach to the fashion and retail field, and is therefore able to promote fashion businesses in a healthy and powerful way. Through its unique “2+3“ commercial strategy, it controls each step of the apparel supply chain, from production arrangements to international distribution. While "2" refers to "Brand Management" and "Supply Chain Management", "3" refers to "Brand Promotion", "Financial Credit Guarantee", and "Price Advantage".

EMPRESS Showroom: Based in Shanghai, EMPRESS SHOWROOM features a wide selection of mid-range and luxury brands. Owned by the private firm Empress Group, the showroom counts two other headquarters in Vancouver and Hong Kong, that serve as both; trading offices and research platforms for emerging designers.

Shanghai Arts and Crafts Association (SACA): Founded in1996, SACA is the brainchild of Shanghai Municipal Rosewood Furniture Standardization Technology Committee, Rosewood Carving Professional Committee and Tourist Souvenir (Craft Gift) Professional Committee. With more than 300 members, SACA focuses on heritage protection, as well as on the development of traditional Chinese crafts and technical skills. Throughout the years, SACA has been able to provide global exposure to local brands and artisanal labels, and therefor to promote the artisanal aspect of ‘Made in China’.

JWN.IDEAHOUSE: The commercial platform gathers together Chinese and international designers. JWN.IDEAHOUSE taps both the domestic and oversea markets, through a selection of commercial yet creative labels. With sustainability and wearability as fundamental style mantras, JWN.IDEAHOUSE aims to showcase the playful side of an everyday wardrobe.

New Union Showroom: The showroom promotes international luxury brands, by providing public relations, sales and consulting strategies. It also offers a tailored made service to its clients. Throughout the years, New Union Showroom has established itself as a powerful commercial hub in Shanghai city, by featuring emerging and established designers with a visionary approach to fashion.
