The Art Newspaper: US museums spent $5bn to expand

[size=14]According to a survey published in [red]The Art Newspaper[/red] , American museums between 2007 and 2014 spent $ 5 billion for their expansion.
A sum which is more than the total expenditure of 85 museums in 37 countries reviewed. The call to "starchitects" according to the analysis of 50 construction projects worldwide conducted over the same period, costs 52% more than projects built by less famous names.[/size]

[size=14][red]Julia Halperin[/red] explains that the extension project, even if it allows more visitors means more prestige for directors and members of boards of directors.
