The Italian designer [size=14][red]Maria Grazia Chiuri[/red][/size] has been named as the new creative director of [size=14][red]Dior[/red][/size], making her the first woman to lead the iconic French fashion house. The 52 year old designer left the Italian label [red]Valentino[/red] and [red]Pierpaolo Piccioli[/red] long-time creative partners.

She will present her first show in Paris on September 30 during the Fashion Week, following the steps of the legendary founder Christian Dior and some artistic directors such as Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferre and John Galliano.

Dior has been without a leader since the shock departure of the Belgian [red]Raf Simons[/red] last October. Valentino will be now in charge of Piccioli.
