New agreement Partnership for TOKYO Fashion Week

The Japan Fashion Week Organization has now signed a partnership with Rakuten, a huge online marketplace, featuring a large number of merchants selling fashion products.

Their interest in establishing a stronger relationship with a fashion industry goes far back: “Fashion continues to experience rapid growth in Rakuten’s e-commerce services. Through this new partnership with JFWO, we hope to promote Japan’s fashion scene globally, empower the fashion industry and provide attendees with an even more exciting experience.” said Mickey Mikitani, Chairman and CEO of Rakuten, Inc.

The company seeks to further strengthen its branding in the fashion sector and collaborate with merchants in the Rakuten Ichiba marketplace and Rakuten BRAND AVENUE to provide users with an even more pleasant shopping experience.

Therefore, the upcoming fashion week obtained a new name, and now will be known as Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO (Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO in the past), for the 29th time, it will hold place in October 2019 in the most popular locations in Tokyo like Shibuya, Omotesando. Already attracting 50 000 visitors and more than 50 designers participating, Japan Fashion Week Organization aiming to bring the TOKYO Fashion Week to the international fashion panorama and to raise the competitiveness of Japan’s fashion business.
