Guided by the goal of further promoting the construction of Shanghai as an international consumption center city, under the mission of reviving industry confidence and comprehensively boosting the industry's accelerated recovery, and on the basis of strictly implementing epidemic prevention and control, Shanghai Fashion Week announced its official schedule for SS2023 edition which runs from September 22 to 30, with a theme of "Met A Nature", implying that in the metaverse scene of isomorphism between reality and virtuality, the boundary between natural landscape and humanistic concepts is gradually being broken.
This season, the Xintiandi Main Tent, Labelhood, Sifs and Kids Wear bring together the four major runway showcase sections, bringing design collections with high-quality creativity, allowing the world to seeing the confidence and determination of China to support creative power. Shanghai Fashion Week also continue its partnership with Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, with livestream shows and postshow runway video releases.
The showcase of Chinese fashion brand Comme Moi, founded by the former Chinese supermodel Lv Yan, kicks off the 9-day fashion week. In the main tents and Labelhood, highlighted designers include: Judyhua, Xu Zhi, 8ON8, Mayali, nume, Ricolee, Yes By Yesir, Garçon By Garçon, Leaf Xia, Staffonly, Oude Waag, Louis Shengtao Chen, Jarelzhang, Nan Knits, Vii Victor X Wang, Mtg, Yirantian, Fengyi Tan, Shushu/Tong And D. Martina Queen. M Essential Noir, Annenono, Un Morceau, Yibin Chen, Ao Yes, and Yehuafan make their debut during the week. As the iconic showcase project, Sifs is again located in the center of Shanghai’s Cbd Jing An Kerry Center and brings international labels featuring Ivan Yong Couture and The Atelier. Chinese leading fashion brand Youngor brings the showcase of its fashion talents incubation project Youngor Innovation 100. Do Not Tag will close the week on September 30.
The "Asia's largest ordering season", which carries important business functions, is also transformed into a "small and beautiful" boutique ordering exhibition, looking for new power points to improve marketing accuracy. Mode and its partner trade fairs fully explore their respective characteristics and positioning, presenting the first commercial launch of fashionable new products.
Mode Shanghai Fashion Tradeshow celebrates its 15th edition in a new location of Im Shanghai In Changning District. In addition, the prestigious British department stores Harrods is back to Shanghai and brings In The Frame By Harrods, with three online digital livestream panel talks event aiming to build industry dialogues.
Since its establishment in 2003, Shanghai Fashion Week has gradually grown into a benchmark event with a leading role in the industry after years of exploration. In line with the national supply-side reform and development strategy, the "showcase event" has been extended to the "trade market". More and more local brands and designers started from Shanghai Fashion Week and continued to shine on the international stage; batch after batch of overseas fashion graduates returned to China to take root in Shanghai and write their own stories.
