On December 19, after more than 4 years of negotiations, Huang Runqiu, the Chinese president of COP 15 , officially announced that 190 countries around the world had adopted a historic agreement to try to halt the destruction of biodiversity and resources essential to humanity.
75 percent of the world's ecosystems are altered by human activity, more than a million species are threatened become extinct, and the world's prosperity is at risk. More than half of the world's GDP depends on nature and its services.
Called a 'weapon of massive destruction' by the U.N.'s president, humanity has sanctioned now the 'peace pact with nature.'
The main resolution is to restore and protect 30 percent of the planet's degraded lands by 2030 and to halve the risks from pesticides.
The text was also praised for the guarantees offered to native peoples, custodians of 80 percent of the Earth's remaining biodiversity. The agreement calls for "at least $20 billion" in annual international aid for biodiversity by 2025 and "at least $30 billion by 2030."
In 2022, the Showrooms and Trade Shows have gradually reconstituted the favourable dimension for the activities and physical business exchanges with the buyers and media during the territorial sessions of the collections presentations and sales campaigns.
Now, we feel a return to normalcy even if, still in September, a part of the public has been hindered in moving from the East to the West and vice versa. All indications are that this situation will evolve positively as early as this coming season.
