The international prize La Moda Veste la Pace pays homage to Vivienne Westwood

The 10th edition of the La Moda Veste la Pace award, which took place in Rome in the European Space, headquarters of the European Parliament Office in Italy and the European Commission Representation in Italy, on 21 March, on the occasion of the International Day Against Racism, was dedicated to the memory of British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, who passed away in December 2022. Among those absent but present with a video contribution, Naomi Campbell, who was to be awarded for having supported a campaign against racism in fashion, from the hands of Makaziwe Mandela, daughter of the Nobel Prize Nelson (also present only in the video), and Renzo Rosso, founder of the Otb Group, recipient of the award for the many projects for young people and women, supported with his Foundation, and for having welcomed Ukrainian refugees in Italy by giving them accommodation, food, clothes, health care.

The prize awards, sponsored by the European Parliament and organized by African Fashion Gate, the organization founded by Nicola Paparusso and chaired by Marietou Dione, have been assigned to the director of La Stampa Massimo Giannini, Arianna Alessi (vice president of the OTB Foundation), Lelio Gavazza (Bulgari Group), Luisa Panconesi (LuisaViaRoma), Piero Piazzi and Massimo Leonardelli.
