For FIAC 2019, Giuseppe Penone sets up a monumental work, "Matrice di Linfa" (Lifeblood matrix) at the Palais d’Iéna from October 15 to 27, 2019.

The Italian artist and leading advocate of the arte povera (poor art) uses raw and noble materials such as wood, marble or even stone and water for meaningful and symbolical works. For his major return in Paris, Penone has been given free rein to host the large hypostyle room of the Palais d’Iéna, a wonderful room with over 7-m tall columns.

In collaboration with the Galerie Marian Goodman, the artist chose to present his monumental work Matrice di linfa (or Lifeblood matrix) measuring 43-m long and accompanied by two new sculptures especially made for the venue.
