The Kleihueshalle presents 15 pivotal works by Joseph Beuys in a new display that delves into the artist’s complex legacy. Centered around his major installation DAS KAPITAL RAUM 1970–1977, the exhibition includes sculptures, drawings, multiples, and key performances like I Like America and America Likes Me. Beuys’s practice challenged traditional definitions of art, blending material experimentation with social and political vision. At the same time, it contextualises and compares Beuys’ vision of a slow social transformation with historic and contemporary countermodels by Grace Lee Boggs, Angela Davis, Agnes Denes, Donna Haraway among others.
