In an ode to friendship, savoir-faire, and legacy, Louis Vuitton presents "Visionary Journeys", an exhibition at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka, offering a fresh take on its history through the lens of Japan. Conceived under the direction of curator and historian Florence Muller and brought to life through a scenographic experience by Shohei Shigematsu-OMA, the showcase reflects the House's commitment to innovation and creativity.
Painting a captivating portrait of Louis Vuitton, the exhibition unfolds across twelve awe-inspiring spaces filled with archival sketches, artworks, leather goods, and installations with over 1,000 pieces, including archival sketches, artworks, leather goods, and installations, alongside over 200 Japan-specific artefacts. “Visionary Journeys” explores how Louis Vuitton continues to reimagine the Art of Travel, expanding its pioneering and artistic perceptions on fashion, culture, and beauty.
Underscored by the deep cultural exchange between Louis Vuitton and Japan, the “Visionary Journeys” experience pays tribute to a long-standing and precious relationship with Japanese culture, reflecting on the House’s early inspirations alongside its iconic collaborations with artists, such as Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, Rei Kawakubo, and NIGO®.
