Based on the experience in operating the past biennales, the 9th Shanghai Biennale 2012 will continue its local experience to face the global situation and cultural attitudes. It insists on constructing different cultural imaginations. The 9th Shanghai Biennale will be the inaugural show for Shanghai Contemporary Art Museum housed in a restoredindustrial building that used to be a thermal power plant. This marks a new beginning for the Shanghai Biennale in its 16 years of history.

The 9th Shanghai Biennale will focus on resources and energy, while the curatorial team will study the energy of sites, memories, will, comprehension and, ultimately, the community.

As the name suggests Re:Rotterdam, is a reply/ response/ reaction to certain practices within the art. It is a re-ordering of the art fair/market and the establishments surrounding them. A re-focusing. As such the Re:Rotterdam is the fourth in a series of side events which will act as a counter-point to other more established events. Bringing vitality, and daring back into the fold.

ARCOmadrid 2013 will again have a space for debates about current creative work and the art market. Curators, artists, collectors, directors and representatives of museums, art centres and cultural institutions, critics and other prestigious professionals will meet and share ideas and projects, as well as networking and establishing relationships with the participating galleries.

Alongside the fair there will be a wide range of activities, including a Forum on Collecting and Professional Meetings where the issues of the moment will be discussed. A unique platform for analysis and debate about art and collecting.

After the success of previous editions, this space is now consolidated as a meeting place for curators and art experts worldwide. Reserved exclusively for professionals, with admission by invitation only, these platforms provide an opportunity for them to share their thoughts, compare experiences and discuss new ideas.

The Professional Meetings will bring together leading figures invited by Yuko Hasegawa, head curator, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo; Adriano Pedrosa, independent curator, Sao Paulo; Jens Hoffmann, director, Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art, San Francisco; Chelsea Hains, curator and writer, New York; Anna Colin, curator, London/Paris; Patrick Charpenel, director, Colección Jumex, México D.F., and Magali Arriola, curator, Colección Jumex, México D.F.

The opening programme will no longer be a section exclusively devoted to European galleries, as it will extend worldwide. Around 30 galleries that have been open for less than seven years will be selected by Manuel Segade, an independent curator and art critic based in Paris, and Veronica Roberts, adjunt associate curator of Contemporary Art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and previously curatorial assistant at the MoMA.

The exceptional reception given to this young galleries section in its first two years by professionals and collectors has encouraged us to extend it to include different perspectives, generating discussions that will incorporate the largest possible number of voices at the fair.

The Nordic region’s leading fair for contemporary art. An exclusive meeting place for the Nordic art scene at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts
in Stockholm.

For the eighth year in a row, Market will gather the leading Nordic galleries and artists and present a wide selection from the contemporary art world.

Galleries from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland are participating.
MARKET took place for the first time in February 2006 at the initiative of a group of gallerists looking to create a high-quality fair in central Stockholm. Since the summer of 2007, the organisation of the fair has been managed by Konstmässan Market i Stockholm AB, owned by a group of Nordic gallerists on a non-profit basis. The fair highlights Swedish and Nordic galleries who show a wide selection of the most exciting international contemporary art. There has been tremendous interest in MARKET and the fair has been very well received by gallerists, collectors, visitors and the press alike. Through its cooperation with the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, MARKET has anchored the forward-looking arts scene in a rich artistic tradition
