ARCOmadrid 2013 will again have a space for debates about current creative work and the art market. Curators, artists, collectors, directors and representatives of museums, art centres and cultural institutions, critics and other prestigious professionals will meet and share ideas and projects, as well as networking and establishing relationships with the participating galleries.

Alongside the fair there will be a wide range of activities, including a Forum on Collecting and Professional Meetings where the issues of the moment will be discussed. A unique platform for analysis and debate about art and collecting.

After the success of previous editions, this space is now consolidated as a meeting place for curators and art experts worldwide. Reserved exclusively for professionals, with admission by invitation only, these platforms provide an opportunity for them to share their thoughts, compare experiences and discuss new ideas.

The Professional Meetings will bring together leading figures invited by Yuko Hasegawa, head curator, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo; Adriano Pedrosa, independent curator, Sao Paulo; Jens Hoffmann, director, Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art, San Francisco; Chelsea Hains, curator and writer, New York; Anna Colin, curator, London/Paris; Patrick Charpenel, director, Colección Jumex, México D.F., and Magali Arriola, curator, Colección Jumex, México D.F.

The opening programme will no longer be a section exclusively devoted to European galleries, as it will extend worldwide. Around 30 galleries that have been open for less than seven years will be selected by Manuel Segade, an independent curator and art critic based in Paris, and Veronica Roberts, adjunt associate curator of Contemporary Art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and previously curatorial assistant at the MoMA.

The exceptional reception given to this young galleries section in its first two years by professionals and collectors has encouraged us to extend it to include different perspectives, generating discussions that will incorporate the largest possible number of voices at the fair.

In line with the art market itself, affected by economic and business model changes, and according to the objective needs of their own art galleries, Art Madrid understands that it's time to change.

- The Fair has been moved to the Chamartin Station "Attic" where there are three vaulted spaces perfect for our purpose. Chamartín Station is also one of the biggest Spanish Transport Stations which will facilitate access to a wider range of visitors, who can access it by car, subway and commuter trains. The fair will have a large space of 2,500 square meters of exhibition, which includes lounge and restaurant area to the general public.

- In addition, Art Madrid doubled their annual presence, with a first call from November 7th to 11st 2012 and the next on February 13th to 17th, 2013.

- Art Madrid will host the program again One Project, curated by critic Javier Rubio Nomblot, who already succeeded at last year led to galleries showing artists under 40, show only format.
