"Evolution of the Archaic" Countdown of design /Ukrainian design, craft, fashion and vintage items/ The "elementary particles", the fundamental elements of design, circle, square, triangle, cross, spiral - are where this powerful connection between all human cultures lies. Modern creators' use of primitive forms and materials - clay, wood, metal, wool, glass, stone - is an adventure in time and imagination. Forms and materials, crossing the boundaries of eras and cultures, remind us of our common roots and our universal heritage. We demonstrate through young Ukrainian design and craftsmanship, inspired by our own cultural code, how the archaic becomes an impetus for evolution, a source of inspiration, forming a new, unique and relevant matter.

In homage to the sumptuous beds in the Intendants' Apartments at the Hôtel de la Marine, Univers Uchronia is taking over the Cour d'Honneur with a remarkable artistic installation. Univers Uchronia has invited Palet (a brand of ceramic tiles sampled by Material Bank) to create an XXL interpretation of this emblematic bed, transforming the furniture into a veritable public stage. The splendour of the bed is accentuated by the use of drapes made with Casamance and a giant fan made by Duvelleroy. The headboard and bed are specially made by Treca. The seats are made to measure in collaboration with Tonester. All produced by STudio Gaïa and highlighted by DCW.
