HeForShe global solidarity movement, initiated by UN in 2014 together with Ukrainian Fashion Week presents a project. It aims to join representatives of Ukrainian fashion industry to the human rights dialogue.

Designers in collaboration with artists have created images inspired by the HeForShe movement, the theme of gender equality, human rights and freedom of choice. Famous Ukrainian fashion brands: BEVZA, Lake Studio, LITKOVSKAYA, FROLOV and ARTEMKLIMCHUK, as well as well-known artists and illustrators: Vova Vorotnyev, Anatoliy Belov, Maria Gavrilyuk, Maria Ralemska and Masha Shubina participated in the project.

HeForShe is a solidarity campaign for the advancement of gender equality, there men and boys involve as agents of change. Since launching in 2014, more than 1.3 billion people from different countries have joined the campaign - heads of state, leading scientists, heads of global corporations, sportsmen, artists and opinion leaders who share the philosophy of gender equality. The project is supported by the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine.

During five days of Ukrainian Fashion Week the showroom in Mystetskyi Arsenal will act representing 8 brands of clothing, footwear and accessories: LONA PRIST, HONCHARENKO, GRIE, CIRCUL, SNESHANA NEKH, KOBERNYK, IRARO, NIT.KA and others.

The space #Showroom will have its own unique concept, designed by Kateryna Rozit. Traditionally #Showroom space is designed in partnership with Domus Design magazine. It is an Ukrainian magazine with more than 15 years of history; its mission is to develop Ukrainian design in all areas. #Showroom will have several zones: a lounge area and a stage where brands presentations will take place, a special space of LUXOPTICA - national network of optics, developing its own brand of glasses - Casta, Luxoptica, Sanderson.

The concept of UKRAINA STRONG came up with Uwe Bermeitinger, the founder of the famous art publication TISSUE, after his intense holiday in Ukraine in 2016. Within Ukrainian Fashion Week, a German artist will show a series of visual works Dirty Feet Pure Mind and will present a special project devoted to Ukraine. Also young, but already well-known artists in contemporary Ukrainian art will also be part of the UKRAINE STRONG exhibition.

The True Cost documentary is an exciting investigation of the true fashion cost. The film reveals the global challenges caused by fast fashion and offers ways to solve it in order to save the environment. Featuring interviews with the world’s leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth and Vandana Shiva, The True Cost is an unprecedented project that invites us on an eye opening journey around the world and into the lives of the many people and places behind our clothes.

Filmmaker Andrew Morgan said that idea for the documentary was sparked by the 2013 factory collapse in Dhaka, Bangladesh, which killed more than 1,000 people. That disaster for the first time made him question how his clothing was made—and what he found out, he said, was heartbreaking.
