LUISAVIAROMA collaborates with ALTREFORME on an exclusive project in support of Oxfam Italia

Five internationally renowned fashion designers, Manish Arora, Yaz Bukey, Corto Moltedo, Fausto Puglisi and KTZ, have each re-envisioned the iconic Salvador chair to create a series of limited edition pieces.

The one-of-a-kind creations will be auctioned on Ebay starting from the 13 April 2015. All of the proceeds raised by the customized Salvador chairs will go towards OXFAM ITALIA,

The auction will coincide with the Salone del Mobile in Milan, where the ‘Altreforme Goes Fashion’ collection will be on display at the old Church of San Carpoforo in Brera.

After a successful show in 2014 the Berlin Design Selection will again present latest works of Berlin-based design in Milan during Salone del Mobile 2015.

For the first time the show will take place at the renowned Brera Design District.

The scenography will be made again from the Berlin based studio COORDINATION.

FU HA* - The expression of air

A common daily sensation translated in a poetic way.

FABRICA collaborates with DAIKIN Italy to explore a more personal relationship with air.
Named after two traditional Japanese onomatopoeic expressions reminiscent of the sound of human breath, FU HA – The expression of air is a multisensory artistic platform where air is the designer. * FU and HA remind of the sound of our breaths when air is exhaled. FU represents blowing into a substance to cool it down and HA is about warming something up by opening our mouth widely.

KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD takes over an apartment in the Brera district to present prototypes of the latest pieces.. We introduce designer Christian Haas and show his chair and table SCOUT, together with BIG-GAME’ s new CASTOR Sofa and Armchair.

In addition to the furniture, the exhibition circles around the story and the making of KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD. Through personal photographs and a short movie by Japanese photographer Norio Kidera we trace back Karimoku New Standard to its origins and document its story and process.

Starting from Milano Design Week throughout EXPO 2015, GREEN ISLAND will present a cultural and creative programme of valorisation, promotion and awareness-raising of eco-friendly practices in the urban contest, focused on safeguard of bees and knowledge of the honey, with the spread of eco-design installations, exhibitions, conferences, and educational activities.

THE GARDEN OF WONDERS. A JOURNEY THROUGH SCENTS
Nendo and Front projects for BE OPEN Foundation's exhibition

Be Open, the international foundation created by entrepreneur and philanthropist Yelena Baturinawhich operates in the field of design and creativity, has chosen the Botanical Garden of Brera as the background of a sophisticated interdisciplinary project whose central theme is perfume.

The foundation has invited 8 designers to reinterpret the history and features of 8 defuncts perfume brands according to their sensitivity: Tord Boontje, Fernardo and Humberto Campana, Dimore Studio, Front, Jamie Hayon, Lissoni Associati, Jean-Masrie Massaud, Nendo.
PROJECT by Ferruccio Laviani and Gérald Guislain as OLFACTORY CURATOR.

Front and Nendo have respectively worked on French brand Guyla and Russian perfume house Koehler & Co.The mysteriously double walled bottle inspired them to create a bottle with an unexpected inside: it will be lit up from within. The room is also a light installation made from hundreds of tiny light dots like fireflies that will visualise the ephemerality of scent.
