5VIE DESIGN WEEK – UNDER THE WILLOW TREE DI SARA RICCIARDI
See on Map
April 16 2024 -> April 21 2024
*
At Palazzo Litta, an immersive installation comes to life thanks to the sinuous branches of the willow tree, decorated with the exquisite textile creations of the Antica Fabbrica Passamanerie Massia Vittorio 1843 of Turin. Paolo Borghi, a music therapist and musician, has helped to tune the sound balance of the branches' bar chimes, transforming the metal into a carrier of universal sound and vibrant energy. In the shade of the hanging branches of a willow tree, stillness reigns. This tree, with its delicate branches curving downwards, offers a reassuring refuge. It is an emblematic symbol of the life cycle, female cyclicity, and lunar power. Its branches become harmonic musical instruments, turning into hydrophones that emit sound vibrations through small metal bells. These notes, blown by the wind or the passage of people, evoke a melody with ancestral roots. A landscape that invites peace and meditation, where sound becomes a caress for the soul.

5VIE DESIGN WEEK – PORN CHIC MAKING LOVE BEGINS WITH YOU
See on Map
April 16 2024 -> April 21 2024
*
The new interiors project signed by designer Maria Vittoria Paggini explores the concept of nudity within an erotic and symbolic iconographic context. Maria Vittoria Paggini opens the doors of the transformist apartment in the heart of the 5Vie, part private house, part gallery, which this year promises to overturn the canons of living with an installation that reflects on the sense of nudity, in the unfolding of an erotic and symbolic iconographic paradigm. At Casa Ornella nudity does not express itself in a reduction of stylistic codes and formal sobriety but becomes an intense and opulent stage where the body is staged. This is the only “undressed” element shown in its roughness and at the same time decorative texture of the interior project. Abandoned clothes, masks, and superstructures, the home a place of intimacy, becomes the sphere of choice to celebrate a newfound authenticity by stripping away the veils of stereotypes. Porno Chic is the concept that Maria Vittoria Paggini is presenting at Milan Design Week 2024. An experience of the rediscovery of the self, starting from the body, the instrument of a new palingenesis, resetting the sense of the obscene often attached to it.

TRIENNALE MILANO: DAN GRAHAM
See on Map

*
A tribute to Dan Graham (Urbana, 1942 - New York, 2022), one of the most important international conceptual artists, through a focus devoted to "pavilions," works created since the 1980s that lie on the border between art and architecture. Accessible and visitable, the pavilions, constructed of steel and glass (mirrored or semi-reflective), create an environmental dimension that challenges the viewer's perception and relationship with space. The outdoor space in front of the Palace of Art houses the large-scale London Rococo pavilion, commissioned in 2012 for Sculpture in the City of London. In the garden, the Sagitarian Girl pavilion from 2008 is presented. Part of the Cuore, on the other hand, is dedicated to hosting video documentation, works, and in-depth materials.
