With 30 Compasso d’Oro award-winning chairs and another more than 100 having netted honourable mentions, Take Your Seat / Prendi Posizione, curated by Nina Bassoli, evidences that chairs bear witness to and are the political, social and cultural expression of their times.

The chair is the star of the show. Or rather, more than 130 chairs are. It's a unique narrative journey, from 1954 to the present day, illustrating just how design, through the changing forms (but not only) of the chair has channelled the great changes in society, responding to the new cultural paradigms with inventions, vocabularies and totally original content.

The exhibition is based on an analysis of these furnishings for the Casa Albonico, a reinterpretation of the work of Mollino, a key figure in the world of twentieth-century design and architecture, highlights a series of aspects that have not yet been sufficiently examined. These range from his obsession with form and his links with the second wave of Futurism, through to his interest in craftsmanship, interior design, engineering, physics and aerodynamics. Two fundamental aspects of Carlo Mollino’s work, which the furnishings for the Casa Albonico allow us to explore, are the artisanal manufacture of his furniture and his cooperation with other artists.

Between exotic atmospheres and inspirations from distant lands, ETRO Home Interiors expresses the power of symbolic language through the masterful use of fabrics and ETRO’ symbol par excellence, the Paisley. A true leitmotif of the collection, the ancient Babylonian decorative motif inspired by the bud of the date palm, the tree of life, is redefined in a suggestive game of references and new interpretations.
Characterized by the use of refined fabrics and materials and sublime example of Made in Italy craftsmanship, ETRO Home Interiors collection expresses a dynamic, cultured and joyful lifestyle through a perfect mix of art, creativity and a vibrant sense of color.

Maison Valentino, on the occasion of Milan Design Week, presents a special installation in the boutique in Via Montenapoleone. The windows and interiors are inspired by the world of theatre, the protagonist of the Valentino ACT show and the shots of the new campaign.

Real and virtual elements come together inside the boutique: vintage theatre chairs and curtains in latex and red velvet characterise the layout; a ledwall recreates the atmosphere of the fashion show with special footage from the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. Through the exploration of artistic language, a clear and incisive sign materializes what is now the Valentino identity: both sensual and romantic, nourished by memories but not nostalgic.

A celebration of individuality and diversity, through an amplification of different voices and visions, to form a community united by empathy and connection.

The retrospective Vico Magistretti Architetto Milanese, which has been created in partnership with the Fondazione Vico Magistretti and is curated by Gabriele Neri, brings together the wealth of drawings, sketches, models, photographs, prototypes and original items preserved in the archive of the Milanese architect and designer. The exhibition looks back at Magistretti’s entire career as a designer, which began shortly after the Second World War, right here at the Palazzo dell’Arte.
