The exhibition, curated by Katya Inozemtseva and Sara Rizzo, reflects on the traditional concept of the vitrine and its centrality in exhibition projects. In relation to the "classical museum display", the display case separates and at the same time exposes the object, offering it for viewing, but creating a barrier for the viewer. In ethnographic museums in particular, the "neutralising" effect of the display case affects the works, isolating them and depriving them of their original context and function.

The exhibition is also enriched by a rich program of events that allow us to reflect on some of the key concepts of the exhibition and to leave the museum through public art.

Osservatorio Prada: Miranda July
Exhibitions
March 07 2024 -> October 14 2024
*
Curated by Mia Locks, “Miranda July: New Society” is the first solo museum exhibition dedicated to Miranda July’s work. Spanning three decades, from the early 1990s until today, the exhibition includes early short films, performances, and multimedia installations. The exhibition debuts F.A.M.I.L.Y (Falling Apart Meanwhile I Love You), a multi-channel video installation July made in collaboration with seven strangers via Instagram. The exhibition uses F.A.M.I.L.Y as a jumping-off point to consider related ideas in earlier performative and collaborative works.

The first floor of the Osservatorio presents documentation from July’s earliest performances in punk clubs to major performance pieces, such as Love Diamond (1998), The Swan Tool (2000), Things We Don’t Understand, and Definitely Are Not Going to Talk About (2006), and New Society (2015), alongside related props, costumes, and archival documents.

The second level presents F.A.M.I.L.Y, as well as two other collaborative projects, I’m the President, Baby (2018), and Services (2020). There will also be a reprisal of Learning to Love You More (2000-2009), a web-based project made in collaboration with Harrell Fletcher that included 70 assignments completed by the public and uploaded online. Assignment #43 (“Make an exhibition of the art in your parents’ home”) will appear as part of the exhibition, completed by a local Milanese woman specifically for the exhibition.

Exhibitions
April 07 2024 -> July 31 2024

The exhibition "From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana" will be an open love letter to Italian culture as the enduring inspiration for Dolce&Gabbana’s fashion designs, tracing the extraordinary translation of Domenico Dolce’s and Stefano Gabbana’s ideas, from the heart through to their realization, by hand. The exhibition will bring together the fashion house’s one-of-a-kind creations for the very first time.

The exhibition, which will launch in Milan and then tour worldwide, will celebrate the brand as a symbol of Italian style, following the dreams of Alta Moda, and explore its unconventional approach to the world of luxury: elegant, sensual, and unique, yet humorous, irreverent, and subversive.

Curated by Florence Müller, and produced by IMG, the exhibition will also feature work by visual artists in dialogue with Dolce&Gabbana’s celebrated designs.

10 Corso Como: Yohji Yamamoto. Letter to the Future
See on Map
Exhibitions
May 16 2024 -> July 31 2024
*
Organized by 10 Corso Como and Yohji Yamamoto, and under the patronage of Cnmi-Camera nazionale della moda italiana, the project curated by Alessio de′ Navasques, curator and professor of Fashion Archives at the Sapienza University of Rome, gathers a dialogue between iconic pieces from the runway, recent and future collections, in an ascending and immersive climax.

The exhibition itinerary examines the body of work of the designer who made poetry of structured, yet ethereal, cut and reassembled pieces, where he penetrates the space of thoughts and emotions, his unmistakable signature. A statement on the universal meaning of form through the absolute colors white, black, and red: clothes become words in the literature of the relationship between body and space. For the designer, it is not a body objectified by signs and codes of gender recognition, but it is a body that acts on the dress and transforms it: a radical fashion that enhances the interiority of the wearer.

Aspesi: The Uniform - Arts & Crafts

Exhibitions
Monday June 17 2024 18:30-21:00

The theme of the personal uniform has always been a concept close to Aspesi. Many people, who have always chosen the brand for its sober and timeless aesthetics, have made its garments a real "uniform of life". To tell the story, Aspesi presents the project The Uniform - Arts & Crafts: together with the photographer Lodovico Colli di Felizzano, the brand has gathered personalities close to the brand, similar to this concept, in a photographic and video story.

The personalities who took part in the Uniform project celebrated and shared the special bond they have with their own "life uniform" which represents more than the simple choice of clothing to cover themselves, but a real identity symbol.
